The business leader donated $98.5 million to homeless people. He is known as the richest person in the world. The donation was made to about 32 organizations spread over 23 US states, most of them homeless and needy families.
About Bezos Day One Fund
The CEO and founder gave the money through Bezos Day One Fund. This organisation was inaugurated in September 2018. Upon the inaugurated, Jeff Bezos pledged about $2 billion to its fund. The focus of the organization was focused on two prime matters:
- Funding the organizations who help homeless families
- To create Montessori-inspired preschools across the country
This year, Bezos decided to donate $98.5 million across states in the US, Maryland and New York to Alaska and Hawaii. Last year, the number of states was around 24 but this year there was an increase in the amount of $1 million. Thus, helping more and more people who are needful of these resources.
